Our goal for the Chicago Early Learning outreach campaign was to generate awareness and reduce barriers for families to easily apply online for citywide preschool programs offered in Chicago Public Schools and community-based organizations. We partnered with the City of Chicago to develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-layered public awareness campaign. The campaign included a new logo and brand for Chicago Early Learning, new imagery, slogan, corporate identity, collateral, digital, paid advertising, earned media and a grassroots component. While the campaign was a citywide effort, we also focused on Chicago’s high-need families: immigrant families, families in temporary or unstable living situations, teen parents and families for whom English is a second language.

Our efforts resulted in a 20% increase in enrollment applications, with over 20,000 applications year over year.

Brand Refresh

The rebrand for Chicago Early Learning brought a vibrant, memorable and modern identity to the program’s communications. We refreshed the look to better inspire the possibilities of success that parents could look forward to in their child’s early education. It was also important to represent inclusivity within the logo. Cue three eager hands of different sizes and backgrounds—all excited to learn.

Brand Messaging

Our messaging cut through the noise like safety scissors. We knew we needed to be direct and personal in our approach for brand message to resonate. So, we communicated from the perspective of the preschooler speaking directly to their family. “Look what I can do”.

There are fewer prouder moments than the time your child confidently runs up to you, excited to show off what they’ve just learned. It was this pathos that we channeled to successfully connect the messaging with more of the right people.

The light-hearted and imaginative advertisements appealed to parents and their children across the city. During these brief moments, parents considered the discovery of their children’s potential as people thanks in part to Chicago Early Learning.

Community Engagement

We do brand awareness with eye contact. Through grassroots events, we took to our city’s communities and got more parents excited about their children’s full learning potential.
